Tips to Save Money

At Premier One we are careful to discuss all discounts you are eligible to receive. However, changes may occur in your household and you should be aware of the factors that may affect your premium. Auto insurance can be a major expense, especially if your driving record is a little less than perfect. Some of the ways to reduce the cost of auto insurance include:

  • Increased comprehensive/collision deductibles. Many carriers offer deductibles ranging from $100 to as high as $2500. A slight increase in your deductibles can result in significant savings in premium.
  • Multiple policy discounts. Some companies offer discounts if you also insure your home or additional autos with them as well.
  • Safety discounts. Discounts may be available for alarms, anti-theft devices, passive restraints, and anti-lock brakes.
  • Your type of vehicle. The age, size, horsepower, and performance of your vehicle may affect the cost to insure it. Consult with us before buying your next auto to see what the potential insurance costs will be.
  • Traffic School. Completing traffic school will remove a ticket from your driving record, which may reduce your insurance premium.
  • Special discounts. You may qualify for additional discounts based on your occupation, your completion of a defensive driving course, or if you are a good student. Some companies also give discounts based on how long you have been insured with them.
