Personal Articles
A personal article floater (also known as a scheduled personal property endorsement) is used to cover items that have limited coverage under a homeowners policy or are excluded. Some items that may be covered by a scheduled endorsement or floater:
- Furs
- Jewelry
- Cameras
- Musical Instruments
- Silverware
- Golf Equipment
- Stamps
- Coins
- Artwork
- Collectibles
With a floater, just about any risk is covered unless specifically excluded. It is called a floater because it covers items that can be moved, and the coverage applies no matter where the item is located. So basically, the coverage "floats" with the item. Appraisals and/or receipts are required to ensure adequate coverage.
